“Yoga for Recovery: A Practical Guide for Healing”
We are proud to offer our community the book Yoga for Recovery: A Practical Guide for Healing. Written by our founder, Mike Huggins, and a graduate of our Yoga Teacher Training, Andrew Moore, this book is intended to be a practical guide to maintain or create a home-based yoga practice.
Our trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based yoga programming offers people in recovery from substance use and mental health disorders the opportunity to participate in mindful movement, breathing exercises and guided rest while in treatment. Our book, Yoga for Recovery: A Practical Guide for Healing, grew out of the many requests from participants for resources to continue their mindfulness practices after treatment. Yoga for Recovery is truly a practical guide for every body and is perfect for people both new and experienced with yoga and meditation. Nicole Breen, our Director of Recovery and Behavioral Health Services, explains that at TYP “We view recovery as a shift in perspective and life-long behavioral changes. Our programming is driven by the recognition that individuals have the power to take their wellbeing into their own hands. This book provides the practical tools to support them along the way.”
This holiday season give the gift that provides insight into how to you, or someone you care for, can create more ease, reduce stress, navigate challenges, be more resilient and improve overall sense of wellbeing.

“TYP’s Yoga for Recovery book is a supportive and gentle reference guide for individuals looking to add yoga or meditation into their lifestyle. It has energized and added structure into my own budding daily practice (on and off the mat.) I love how reader friendly it is and I adore the illustrations.”
