Transformation Yoga Project brings trauma sensitive yoga and mindfulness techniques to at-risk and under served people in the greater Philadelphia area who are: in drug or alcohol recovery, incarcerated or otherwise involved in the criminal justice system, and/or veterans. Our classes provide participants physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits, including skills to reduce stress, handle emotions, and heal trauma.
The need for mats and yoga equipment to support the classes has outstripped our supply! Support the TYP Supply Drive at Namas Day on Saturday, April 23rd by donating new or gently used mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, essential oils, etc. Our goal is to collect supplies for 400 people -- enough to support the classes we have scheduled for the next few months taught by over 25 instructors in area prisons, recovery centers and veterans center.
You're also invited to spend the afternoon with Mike Huggins, Founder and Executive Director of Transformation Yoga Project, to learn about what yoga service entails and how to assess the type of service that fits your interests. He will present approaches for empowering yourself and the people you would like to serve from 1:15-2:30pm. Click here to register for this free event!
